Step Inside the Portraits in Outer Space

SmileSpace is the immersive virtual home of LAIMA. Rather than viewing portraits only from outside a frame, visitors can move through a spatial gallery. Each portrait can become an individual emotional destination.

A Gallery Without Geographic Barriers

SmileSpace extends the life and reach of physical exhibitions. A visitor who cannot travel to Latvia, Oregon, or another exhibition location can still enter the virtual gallery through a computer, mobile device, or compatible immersive platform.

The gallery is intended to remain an evolving home for LAIMA portraits, future family collections, cultural exhibitions, neuroscience-inspired artwork, and collaborations with museums and galleries.

A Model for Future Exhibitions

SmileSpace demonstrates how a physical art exhibition can have a meaningful digital companion. The goal is not to replace museums or galleries. It is to increase access, preserve exhibitions after they close, invite new audiences into cultural spaces, and create more immersive ways to experience personal stories.
